RIT Useful Information Digest -1

The senior whom i contacted is the best .. The way he replies and the speed with which he replies back is simply superb .He is Joseph from CS dept @ RIT. Below is the compilation of answers given by Mr.Joseph and others…

I am putting these here so that it can be of help to others too..

So lets look at some of the important queries needed at present. here goes the list.

Q1 :What is the minimum and maximum number of subjects/ credits we can take per quarter ?

min - 12 for full time status…max - 16…..never go more than 12….unless u are dead sure about ur programming expertise…( and i mean dead sure…:)…)

Q2 :Fees per Quarter / Fees per Year

Check out http://finweb.rit.edu/sfs/billing/tuitionandfees/0708/

click on 'Full Time Matriculated Graduate' if you are applying for M.S

Q3 :What is the total fees we have got to get for the first quarter ?

Its around $800 per credit..So for 12 credits its around $9600 minus your quarterly scholarship (..in the scholarship u have recieved it must have been mentioned how much per quarter….calculate accordingly ). check site link above for exact fees.

Q4 :As books are costly in US, what books we have to carry with us?

Basically it depends on the professor, they keep changing. Just carry some basic books.Save on the weight and get more useful stufF…RIT has a good library…

Q5:Are Bridge Courses compulsory ? Can we waive it off ? Are bridge courses really rough ?

Bridge Courses are compulsory. They can be waived off by giving a challenge exam when we get to RIT( And it depends on the professor too).  Its in the course…

First quarter is always the toughest…Everybody goes through it. Getting bridge course is nothing abnormal.

to be continued……..
